i• One of Meusburger's goals this year was to better her career-high ranking of No.60, which she set all the way back in 2007. And she will now - on Monday's rankings she will shoot from No.86 to No.58.i
i• It was not a total loss for Hlavackova, though - having never been beyond the quarterfinals of a WTA event before, she made it all the way to her first WTA final, and now breaks back into the Top 100.i
i• Before this year Yvonne Meusburger had reached the quarterfinals or better there every year - clearly, it was her very best tournament. But this time Austrian No.1 Yvonne Meusburger came to the NÜRNBERGER Gastein Ladies to win, and that she did, collecting the first WTA title of her career.i

Yvonne Meusburger: "From the first year I played this tournament to now, I still can't believe I've actually managed to win it," Meusburger said. "Last week I was in the final of Budapest and I came into Bad Gastein with a very good feeling. I think I played well from the first match and I'm so happy to be the champion now.i


i"I need a few days to realize this. I'm speechless. It's hard to put my thoughts into words."i


Andrea Hlavackova: "It was a very tough match today," Hlavackova said. "Yvonne was playing very well the last few weeks and reached the final quite easily here, but I had some tough matches, a marathon match yesterday too, and I was really feeling it, especially in my legs. But all credit to her - she fought it from me and while I did everything I could, it wasn't enough. I'm still happy to have made my first WTA final.i


i"It was a special tournament - I don't say that just because we say it every week, but it was such a beautiful place. Every day you wake up to beautiful scenery. It was so nice to spend the week here."i




Doubles — Final
S Klemenschits/A Klepac (AUT/SLO) d. K Barrois/E Daniilidou (GER/GRE) 6–1, 6–4

i• Not only did Klemenschits and Klepac win their first WTA doubles title as a team, it was also both players' very first WTA title of any kind.i

i• Sandra Klemenschits and Andreja Klepac won the doubles title, beating Kristina Barrois and Eleni Daniilidou in an all-unseeded final, 61 64.i

Andreja Klepac: "Me and Sandra think today was our day - we played some really good tennis out there," Klepac said. "We were really focused throughout the whole match and we're very happy we made it through."i


Sandra Klemenschits: "I'm also very happy," Klemenschits said. "I really enjoyed the match with Andreja on center court. It's my home tournament. We hope to continue like this and hopefully we'll keep playing well."i
