i• At the age of 35, Tommy Haas captured his 14th ATP World Tour trophy in Munich.i
i• Haas will rise to World No. 13 in the Emirates ATP Rankings on Monday after becoming the first 35 year old to win an ATP World Tour title since Fabrice Santoro in Newport five years ago.i
i• Hamburg native Haas lifted a trophy on home soil for the fourth time.i
i• The fourth-seeded Kohlschreiber was bidding to win the Munich title for the third time, following victories in 2007 (d. Youzhny) and 2012 (d. Cilic).i

Tommy Haas: "It's a sensational feeling to be quite honest. It was another one of those milestones that I hoped for, to maybe win this title one year. To have done that, this late in my career, is a big highlight for me. Every time you win a title, it's a reflection of putting everything together the whole week. It doesn't happen that often. You're really proud of those moments.i


i"It's the icing on the cake when you have family here that you don't see too often. Having my fiancé, my daughter and my mother-in-law coming all the way here to support me, couldn't have been much better.i


i"I knew it was going to be tough. He's played well here before and was looking for his third crown and it was maybe my last opportunity to win the title here. So I gave myself a little bit of extra pressure. I served well and I played well when it counted. When I was serving for the match, he played aggressive, came up with some good shots, and was rewarded for it. Then I told myself to get into the tie-break and play it as well as you can. I didn't want to play a third set against him, having served for the match, so I was really pleased with that."i


Philipp Kohlschreiber: "It's very frustrating to lose in the final, of course, but Tommy played a very good match. It was a great week; it's always special to play at home. I'm happy with my performance. I really look forward to the upcoming clay-court tournaments. I'm pretty confident playing on clay and hopefully I'll have a good run."i

i• Jarkko Nieminen and Dmitry Tursunov won their first ATP World Tour doubles title.i
i• The 31-year-old Nieminen collected his third ATP World Tour doubles crown and his first since triumphing three years ago in Gstaad with Johan Brunstrom. The 30-year-old Tursunov captured his sixth trophy and improved to a 6-5 finals record.i

Jarkko Nieminen: "It feels extremely good. I don't have that many [doubles] titles. It's always special to play for the title in the final. I was very happy that we continued this extremely good run. We didn't drop a set during the week. It was very nice to play with Dmitry. I was surprised how well we played together and how solid we stayed throughout the week.i

Dmitry Tursunov: "I think today both of us were so nervous and so tight. We're just glad it's finally over. It wasn't the prettiest match for both teams, but we had some good points and definitely happy to win. It helped us [this week] that the courts were a little bit slow with the weather and conditions, so we were able to hit a lot of ground strokes and it's tough for the doubles guys, they're so used to high-paced shots. We were able to take our time and pick our spots."i
