i• Stanislas Wawrinka captured his fourth ATP World Tour title and avenged his Buenos Aires final loss in February. It was his first title since January 2011 at Chennai (d. Malisse).i
i• The last Swiss winner in Oeiras was Roger Federer in 2008. Wawrinka is now 4-7 lifetime in title matches.i
i• Wawrinka is now 20-60 against players in the Top 10 of the Emirates ATP Rankings (2-5 in 2013).i
i• Ferrer was playing in his fifth ATP World Tour final of the season (2-3). He is now 20-17 lifetime in finals.i

Stanislas Wawrinka: "It feels great to have won a title again, as it was one of my goals at the start of the year. It was a challenge against a Top 4 player. I am very happy with the way I played today. I was really focused and I made it difficult for him on my serve. It is going to be tough to return to the Top 10, but I am definitely playing better than last year and I am improving. Today, I got the confidence that I can beat a Top 4 player in a final, on a clay court."i


David Ferrer: "Stan played a great match. I was never close to winning, but I felt better the longer it went on with my shots. On the big points, I should have clenched my teeth more. Playing any ATP World Tour final is important. I want to be positive and look forward. Stan played better today. Stan played pretty well from the baseline and he had a good percentage of first services. He surpassed me in everything."i

i• Santiago Gonzalez and Scott Lipsky won their fourth ATP World Tour doubles title as a team.i
i• Gonzalez improved to 6-2 in title matches, while Lipsky is 9-7 overall. Lipsky won the 2009 Oeiras title with Eric Butorac.i

Santiago Gonzalez: "We have known each other for 10 years since a Challenger in Barcelona. Years later, we decided to play together. We are playing well and this is our fourth title. When we compete in a final, it is what we're playing for all week. Today, we played well and we were the best team on the court."i


Scott Lipsky: "We played well and enjoyed playing the bigger matches. We were almost down match point in our first-round match [against Robin Haase and Igor Sijsling], so we got lucky."i
