RESULTS — SUNDAY, 28 JULY, 2013

Singles — Finals
i[1] J Isner (USA) d. [2] K Anderson (RSA) 67(3) 76(2) 76(2) — Saved 2 M.Ps

i In the tallest final in ATP World Tour history, 6’10” John Isner saves two match points against 6’8” Kevin Anderson at the BB&T Atlanta Open to win his second title of the season.i
i The 2:54 match is the longest best-of-three sets final on the ATP World Tour this season.i
i Of Isner’s seven career ATP World Tour titles, three have come after saving match point and winning in a third set tie-break: ’10 Auckland, ’12 Winston-Salem, ’13 Atlanta.i
i Isner is 8-0 in decisive set tie-break matches in 2012-13 (29-14 in his career).i

John Isner: “This is a tournament where I could’ve been out in my first match. I lived on the edge all week and seemed to come through each and every time. It’s very encouraging.i

i“I’ve been on the wrong end of a final that close before, so it feels good to be on the other end of that. I never wavered. I believed that even at 0/40 that I could still hold on and was able to come up with the goods.”i

i"There’s no question I play my best in the U.S. This is where I’m very comfortable. I compete extra hard and things seems to work out for me when I’m playing in the U.S."i

Kevin Anderson: “I was holding easily and trying to give myself chances, which I did. Just wasn’t able to capitalise on them. That was the difference today… He stays in there. He serves well, he plays well when it matters, and he definitely played two better tie-breaks than me.”i

Doubles — Finals
i[4] E Roger-Vasselin (FRA)/I Sijsling (NED) d. [3] C Fleming (GBR)/J Marray (GBR) 76(6) 63

i One week after a runner-up finish in Bogota on their ATP World Tour debut, fourth seeds Edouard Roger-Vasselin and Igor Sijsling claim their team’s first title.i
i Roger-Vasselin improves to 5-1 in doubles finals and Sijsling to a 1-3 mark.i

Edouard Roger-Vasselin: “We played a great match today again. We played two weeks in a row so now we know each other quite well. We’re very happy because we lost in the final last week and now we got the title.”i

Igor Sijsling: “I think we were returning very well. We had easier service games than they did. We had close games in their service games and that put a lot of pressure on them.”i
