The biggest tennis tournament in Romania welcomes its public to its first edition held in spring and launches a specatcular series of matches and special events.


On the qualifying’ s second day, the organizers reserve a special event at which tennis fans will enjoy free access. Gheorghe Hagi, the greatest football player in Romania, is changing the football ball with a tennis racket for a unique exhibition match in which will team up with great tennis player, Andrei Pavel. On the other side of the net there will be the doubles team with the current best Romanian player, Horia Tecau, and the former national team player, Iosif Rotariu.

The world’s most renowned exhibition figures join “4 Stars Full Of Energy”, the event powered by Enel, in partnership with Romanian Tennis Series, for an exhibition match - John McEnroe, Ilie Nastase, Mansour Bahrami and Andrei Pavel are the stars of a BRD Nastase Tiriac Trophy special event taking place on April 24th, at the BNR Arenas.

Between the 27th – 29th of April 2012, in the last three days of BRD Nastase Tiriac Trophy, some of the Romanian artists will confront in the tennis tournament specially dedicated for them – “Stars Open”. Horatiu Malaele, Catalin Crisan, Lucian Viziru, Cristian Gram last year finalists, Cornel Ilie and Augustin Viziru, are among the names on the Stars Open 2012 main draw.
