If it ain't broke, don't fix it: that's been Andy's maxim these last 48 hours ahead of the Aussie Open final.
There's been little change to the routine that's served him so well this far - It's been light practice, some sleep and, er, more sleep. Anything else, maybe?
"Uhm, not a whole lot," said Andy. "I came to practice about 2:00pm yesterday, and practiced for about an hour or so. Pretty much slept quite a lot yesterday because I got to bed about 2:00am on Thursday night/Friday morning. So, yeah, sleeping a lot, practicing, seeing the physio, making sure everything is good, just resting."
Simple.
And what about that added rest day; a bonus, or just another 24 hrs in which to worry?
"No, it's been fine," he said. "You don't want to be overthinking the match, playing it over too many times in your head. You just need to try and not think about it, if that's possible, get away from it. I've been watching some movies, some DVDs, some comedy DVDs to get my mind off of it."
That he's giving his fantasy football team as much time is the real indicator he's nice and relaxed: the banter about team changes has been as prolific as ever, sadly.
Above all, Andy is keen to stress that this Sunday will be very different from that final in Flushing Meadows.
"I was only 20," he said later. "I just feel physically more mature, mentally more mature. At the top of any sport, it can come down to a few points here or there, sometimes a little bit of luck. You have to wait and see. But if I play my best, I think I've got a chance against anyone."
